Our Weaving Session No.2 generated significant interest, leading to a request for a detailed report on our preparation process, key discussion points, and session outcomes. This session focused on exploring international expansion efforts, sharing insights from Phoenix, and fostering collaboration with sister locations.
During the session, we highlighted the challenges and successes of global engagement, discussed best practices, and examined strategies for sustainable cross-sector initiatives. The conversation also provided valuable takeaways for organizations looking to strengthen "loosely connected relationships" among the community.
The summary of this report is now available both in English and Japanese here.

The second Weaving Nest session was another great success, bringing together diverse participants to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen community ties for Phoenix. This session was particularly special as we welcomed the Chairman and a board member from Weaving Nest’s parent NGO in Tokyo, Japan. Their presence reinforced our international connection and provided valuable insights into expanding our impact.
Additionally, we were honored to have Professor Denis Leclerc as a special guest. He engaged with each team, offering expert feedback, facilitating deeper discussions, and helping refine innovative ideas. The session was filled with dynamic exchanges, cross-sector collaboration, and actionable takeaways that will continue shaping our future initiatives.
Stay tuned for future Weaving Nest sessions as we build stronger bridges between communities worldwide!

The Weaving Nest Program team proudly participated in the annual conference of our parent organization, NGO Connecting 30, held in Shibuya, Tokyo. This event served as the platform to announce the completion of our groundbreaking research and share its insightful discoveries with a wider audience. The presentation was followed by an engaging panel discussion featuring program coordinators from the headquarters, offering valuable insights and fostering meaningful dialogue.

We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our first Weaving Nest session, held at the headquarter building of Thunderbird School of Global Management. This event marks a significant milestone in our effort to introduce the innovative community-building model of NGO Connecting 30 from Tokyo to the U.S.
This session provided a unique platform designed to empower local stakeholders—NPOs, businesses, and government entities—to collaborate directly, sharing resources and ideas to foster long-term social capital in Phoenix. We had 30 respondents, with over 20 participants engaging enthusiastically in our inaugural session. Attendees included representatives from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Peace Corps, Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix (Ro Ho En), Phoenix Sister Cities, Arizona State University, and more.
The energy and excitement were palpable, with positive feedback indicating that some participants even landed new opportunities. We are excited to announce that another session will be held in October on a larger scale.

We are excited to announce that our research paper on the Weaving Nest program has been completed and is currently undergoing the publication process. This paper deepens our academic understanding of the common components of a successful community-building model. The findings were unexpected and surprising to our researchers. Stay tuned for updates on the official release and how you can access the full paper.
